More than just a beach – it’s an eco-adventure.
Aruba’s Hidden Gem – Sea Glass Island Awaits!
More than 50 years ago, this little island wasn’t the paradise you see today. Back then, it was just a dumping spot where people threw bottles, ceramics, and other waste. But the Caribbean Sea had her own plan. Over decades, the waves, sun, and sand transformed all that trash into smooth, colorful sea glass — nature’s own treasures.
About five years ago, adventurous boat traveler Captain Ky came across this hidden gem while searching for sea glass. His discovery brought new attention to the island, which has since become one of the best spots in the Caribbean for sea glass lovers, nature enthusiasts, and curious travelers from all over the world.
Today, Sea Glass Island is one of the best spots in the Caribbean for sea glass lovers, nature seekers, and anyone wanting a one-of-a-kind Aruba experience.
This website is dedicated to celebrating the island — packed with tips about the area, the best things to do in Savaneta nearby, and plenty of invaluable information for visitors. If you’re ready to experience it for yourself, plan a trip and reach out to one of Aruba’s eco-friendly local companies — such as Aruba Nature Adventure Kayak Tours — to visit this colorful shoreline, where every wave washes up a new piece of history.
What Makes Sea Glass Island So Special?
A Story Written by the Sea
Over 50 years ago, long before sustainability became a global conversation, locals believed that waste dumped far offshore would simply vanish into the sea. On this tiny reef island, bottles, ceramics, and household glass were discarded and forgotten.
But nature had a different plan.
Over decades, powerful waves, coarse sand, and saltwater wore away the sharp edges, reshaping the discarded remnants into smooth, frosted jewels. Today, those same fragments — now known as sea glass — glimmer along the island’s shore in hues of jade green, sapphire blue, deep amber, and even rare lavender.
What began as waste is now one of Aruba’s most unique natural wonders.
